This course is aimed at:

  • People who have been out of work for a significant time and would like to work again (e.g. mothers, people that have been ill and unable to work)
  •  People who find it difficult to find work due to lack of experience, self esteem or other reasons (e.g. young people that just finished schooling, those who didn’t finish school and don’t have work-skills)
  •  People who are underemployed or unemployed and would like to reskill
  • People with mild mental health issues that contribute to their isolation in the workforce but can be easily overcome by creating a safe, nurturing learning environment that can be easily adjusted to their learning pace.

The course is delivered in two interwoven streams:

  • one-on-one and small group on the job training and practical skills development through applied learning
  • classroom based training and documentation of acquired knowledge by completion of a workbook

Trainees must committ to 6.5 hours of training each week over 12 months. This includes 4 hours on-the-job training and 2.5 hours classroom training and/or project-based work.
